چکیده

A partial connection–prestressing (PCP) method is proposed in this paper to decrease the prestress that was transferred steel girders negative moment region of steel–concrete composite bridges. The connection achieved by application rubber-sleeved studs (RSS) prestressed concrete slab region. Since there no experimental research on PCP continuous girders, best authors’ knowledge, two were tested under a four-point static load evaluate their mechanical performance. test results showed without decreasing ultimate strength and overall stiffness enhanced cracking (Pcr) 3.1 times. In addition, 12.5% prestressing force into girder at internal support section with method, reached 25.9%. Then, elucidate interaction effect girders’ behavior, numerical models developed calibrated results. From analysis, compared normal RSS or could improve Pcr 11.8% 157.0%, respectively, value increases 234.3% when are applied same time. indicate effectively increase efficiency enhance bridge's durability.

Theoretical and Experimental Study on Natural Frequency of Externally Prestressed Box-Girder with Corrugated Steel Webs

Abstract: Based on the characteristics of box girder with corrugated steel webs, the existing prestressing force, the effect of shear deformation of composite girder on the deflection, “folding effect” in longitudinal direction of corrugate steel webs and the arrangement of external tendons were considered comprehensively. With the experiment results of five literatures integrated, N/fcA (the a...

Prestressed Concrete Girder Bridges Using Large 0.7 Inch Strands

The National Bridge Inventory (NBI) includes more than 600,000 bridges within the United States of Prestressed concrete girder bridges represent one of the most widely used bridge systems. The majority of these girder bridges were constructed using 0.5 and 0.6 inch diameter strands. The main impediments to using larger strand diameters are: 1) bed capacities, 2) lack of structural knowledge reg...

An Experimental Study on Behavior of Transverse Connection Appropriate for Modular Girder Bridge

This study is to evaluate the behavior of integral and segmental specimens through static and cyclic tests. Integral specimens were made with the same size to be compared with segmental specimens that were made by connected precast members. To evaluate its bending performance and serviceability, 1 integral and 3 segmental specimens were tested under static load. And 1 integral and 2 segmental s...

Experimental and Numerical Investigation on Bending Capacity of Steel- concrete Composite Truss Girder

This article presents an experimental investigation on the bending capacity of steel-concrete composite truss girder (SCCTG). Four full-scale specimens named CB1, CB2a, CB2b and CB3 respectively, are tested and numerical analyzed. Stress distribution, load-displacement relationship, load-slip relationship and ultimate bending capacity of SCCTGs are investigated. The results show that SCCTG foll...
